Combining her passions for sustainability, design and making things by hand, Dutch designer Inge van Geem creates beautiful accessories for you and your home using luxurious linen and hemp, organic cotton thread, non-toxic ink and her own two hands.
The use of sustainable fabrics gives the products a unique blend of luxury and comfort, elegance and sustainability. Inge works with Belgian linen, which is grown, harvested, spun and woven just 222km (138 miles) from her home, as well as hemp/organic cotton blends.
Inge paints her designs onto every product by hand. This makes them truly unique, since no two creations will ever be exactly the same. The little imperfections that come from hand painting adds character to the products, making them that much more personal.
Before hand painting the designs onto the fabric, it’s cut to the right size by hand. After painting and drying, it’s ready to be sewn up. Inge’s hands get help with sewing from her vintage sewing machine, which is as old as she is, but works just as well.
